If you were impatiently waiting for the Playstation 6, you'll have to wait.
According to the highly respected media Bloomberg and sources close to the matter, the PS6 should not see the light of day before 2028 or even 2029.
Whose fault is it? A priori to a shortage of RAM, generated by the colossal needs of the AI market, which affects several product ranges.
Bloomberg also cites Nintendo which should consider increasing the price of its Switch 2 this year; always for the same reasons.
The "7 year" cycle would then be broken, which would seriously compromise Sony's strategy. As a reminder, for several generations the life cycle of a console has been around 7-8 years. The Japanese company was probably thinking of a release in 2027 for its PS6 since it would have been 7 years since the launch of the PS5 (released in November 2020).
However, given its technical configurations, the PS5 and particularly the PS5 Pro should be able to hold out for a little longer. The PS6 can wait...
